On a low hill between Upper Ibach and Lower Ibach, the Parish Church of Ibach rises impressively.
The church is dedicated toSaints George and Cyrill and Saint Mary Magdalene. It used to be the Abbey church of the Benedictine Monastery of St. Blasien. The church goes back to a chapel erected in 1283, which was expanded into a full church in 1698.
The church building was ordered by theBarons of Tiefenstein.The parsonage, which was erected as a residential tower in theyear 1266, is said to be the oldest building in the whole District of Waldshut-Tiengen that was continuously inhabited.
Saint Mary Magdalene's Day is celebrated on 22 July, or the following Sunday respectively. The church is open to visitors during daytime, except during mass.
On on 15 August (Assumption Day), the Women's Association of Ibach invites the whole area to celebrate a blessing of herbs with mass, a herb sale and get-together.
