Solfelsen

The Solfelsen is a 5.4-metre natural landmark in the form of a huge rock created by years of weathering. The viewpoint commands wonderful views of the Swiss canton of Jura and the Rhine Valley. A small rest area offers the chance of a filling snack before going on to explore the diversity of the site. Because of its rounded shape, the massive stone colossus is also known as ‘fur hat rock’. It was created solely through the process of weathering, and was not deposited here by glaciers during the ice age.
